Still The Jukebox Junkie
A Film Following the life & Career of 90s Country Star Ken Mellons
'Still The Jukebox Junkie', a Little Hands of Stone production, is a biopic docudrama written, directed and produced by Nashville-based artist and writer Corey Frizzell, nephew of country music legend Lefty Frizzell, that chronicles the remarkable life and career of 1990s country star Ken Mellons.
The film traces Mellons’ journey from his early days pursuing a dream in Nashville to his emergence as a torchbearer for traditional country music, capturing both the heights of his chart-topping success and the sobering realities of navigating the independent circuit after mainstream fame. Structured around a deeply personal testimony, the story weaves together two parallel arcs—his professional rise, fall, and resurgence, and his spiritual journey of faith forged through life’s valleys.
In active production through 2025, the docudrama features in-depth interviews and appearances from prominent voices in country music who reflect on Mellons’ legacy and influence, including Josh Turner, John Rich of Big & Rich, Grammy-winning musician Carl Jackson, and members of Keith Whitley’s family, Dwight and Flora Whitley, among others.
