When you spend night after night rolling down the highway with the same group of musicians, boredom has a funny way of turning into competition—and sometimes those competitions turn into legends.
One of the most talked-about stories amongst the Jukebox Junkie's, circles around something the band called “The Bugger Ball.”
No one quite agrees on who started it, and the “rules” changed depending on who was telling the story. What everyone does agree on is that somewhere between a late-night drive, a bus full of tired musicians, and Ken Mellons’ particular brand of humor, things got wildly out of hand.
Let’s just say the game involved equal parts bravery, bad decisions, and a bus full of grown men daring each other to go a little further than they probably should have.
And yes… Ken didn’t exactly sit it out.
Look for the full story of the infamous "Bugger Ball", in the up-coming docudrama, Still The Jukebox Junkie, written, directed and produced by Corey Frizzell
