Filming for the upcoming docudrama Still The Jukebox Junkie recently included a great interview with Priscilla Viescas Sanchez and Joey Mungle of CABOOTS Handmade, who shared their memories of crafting the iconic boots worn by 90s country music star Ken Mellons.

Known for their high-quality, handcrafted boots, the team at CABOOTS Handmade played a role in helping define Mellons’ distinctive look during the height of his career in the 1990s. During the interview, Priscilla and Joey talked about the process of designing and building Mellons’ boots and how custom footwear became an important part of his stage presence and identity as a traditional country artist.

Their perspective highlights the craftsmanship and attention to detail that helped shape Mellons’ visual style during a time when authentic honky-tonk country was making a strong impact on the genre.

Priscilla Viescas Sanchez and Joey Mungle will appear in the upcoming docudrama Still The Jukebox Junkie, which follows the life and career of Ken Mellons and explores the music, people, and stories that helped define an era of 90s country music.

Still The Jukebox Junkie is written, directed and produced by Corey Frizzell
