Corey Frizzell is a Nashville-based polymath working across visual art, film production, and music management. Known as an artist, producer, and manager deeply connected to the culture of country music, Frizzell has built a reputation in Nashville’s creative community for combining visual storytelling with music history and documentary filmmaking.

 

As a visual artist, Corey Frizzell is an in-demand Nashville artist whose work has been commissioned by some of the most respected names in the country and bluegrass music industries. His original artwork has been featured in collections and displayed in several prestigious Nashville establishments, reflecting his ongoing connection to Music City’s vibrant artistic culture.

In addition to his work as a visual artist, Frizzell serves as the manager for 1990s country music star Ken Mellons and the HonkyTonk Daycare Band. Through his role as a manager and creative producer, Frizzell helps guide new projects, media production, performances, and brand development connected to Mellons’ enduring legacy in country music.

Frizzell is also the writer, director, and producer of the docudrama Still The Jukebox Junkie, currently in production. The film follows the life and career of Ken Mellons, exploring the story behind the music, the challenges of the country music industry, and the lasting cultural impact of one of the most recognizable voices of 1990s country music.

Through his work as an artist, filmmaker, producer, and manager, Corey Frizzell continues to create original projects that celebrate the heritage of country music while contributing new creative works emerging from Nashville’s thriving artistic and musical community.

Corey Frizzell – Nashville Artist

Corey Frizzell is a Nashville-based visual artist whose work focuses on the history and culture of country music. His commissioned artwork has been created for legendary artists including George Jones, Don McLean, Loretta Lynn, and Merle Haggard to name a few, as well as world-class boxers such as Vinny Paz, Mike Tyson, and UFC veteran Dustin Ortiz. Frizzell’s original pieces are displayed in notable music landmarks and venues including the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, the Nashville Palace, Music City Bar/The Troubadour Nashville, the Hank Williams Museum, and Nashville’s Sun Records Museum. Through his work, Frizzell documents and celebrates the artists, athletes, songs, and stories that have shaped American culture.

Music Management & Ken Mellons

Corey Frizzell serves as the manager for 1990s country music recording artist Ken Mellons and the HonkyTonk Daycare Band. Mellons is known for hit songs including “Jukebox Junkie,” “Workin’ for the Weekend,” “Rub-A-Dubbin’,” and the country classic “Paint Me a Birmingham.” As Mellons’ manager, Frizzell helps oversee new projects, media production, and live appearances tied to the artist’s continuing legacy in country music.

Frizzell also manages the HonkyTonk Daycare Band, a group of young upstarts performing traditional country music across the Nashville area. The band regularly plays venues throughout Music City and continues to build a following among fans of classic honky-tonk and country music.

Still The Jukebox Junkie Film

Corey Frizzell is the writer, director, and producer of the docudrama Still The Jukebox Junkie, currently in production. The film follows the life and career of 1990s country music artist Ken Mellons, unfolding through parallel storylines that trace his rise in Nashville, the relationships that shaped his journey, and the personal testimony that defines his life beyond the stage. Through interviews, personal stories, and reflections from those who witnessed Mellons’ career firsthand, the film brings together voices from across the country music world. Featured participants include John Rich, Josh Turner, Jeff Goodwin of 8 Track Entertainment, Nancy Jones (widow of George Jones), Dillon Weldon of the Drifting Cowboy Podcast, members of the Keith Whitley family, hit songwriters Billy Yates, Carl Jackson, Billy Lawson, and many others connected to Mellons’ story.Blending music history, personal testimony, and the spirit of traditional honky-tonk, Still The Jukebox Junkie captures the struggles, triumphs, and enduring legacy of an artist whose voice helped define an era of country music.

Little Hands of Stone

Before building his career in art, film, and music, Corey Frizzell spent years in the boxing world as a competitive fighter. The discipline and work ethic he developed in the ring continue to influence his approach to both creative work and mentorship.

Today, Frizzell remains connected to the sport as a part-time boxing coach, working with fighters and helping train the next generation of athletes. He is also a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) and regularly attends the annual induction weekend in Canastota, New York. His experience as both a competitor and coach keeps him closely tied to the boxing community, where the same values of dedication, resilience, and perseverance that define the sport continue to shape his work in and out of the gym.
