about Corey

Polymath (noun) — a person of wide-ranging knowledge or expertise across multiple disciplines. In the modern creative world, a polymath is someone who doesn’t just master one craft but builds fluency and impact across many. Corey Frizzell embodies this definition — a multidisciplinary creator whose work spans film, visual art, writing, production, management, and high-performance achievement.

Corey Frizzell is a Nashville-based polymath artist, producer, manager, and filmmaker. He manages 90s country music star Ken Mellons and the HonkyTonk Daycare Band and is the writer, director, and producer of the docudrama Still The Jukebox Junkie, currently in production. Frizzell is also an in-demand Nashville visual artist whose commissioned artwork has been created for leading figures in the country and bluegrass music industries and displayed in prestigious Nashville establishments.

Frizzell is currently producing, writing, and directing 'Still the Jukebox Junkie', a feature docudrama that chronicles the life and career of 1990s country music artist Ken Mellons. The film explores the rise of Mellons mainstream success with his hit song “Jukebox Junkie”, delving into the deeper personal and professional challenges he faced along the way — a story of triumph, loss, resilience, a man's testimony and enduring passion for music. The project includes interviews and contributions from key figures in the country music scene and aims to reframe Mellons’ legacy for a new generation of fans.

Born into country music’s legendary Frizzell family, Corey was shaped by a rich artistic lineage yet forged his own path, establishing himself as a dynamic creative force across multiple disciplines. His heritage, deeply connected to American music culture, laid the groundwork for a career defined by artistic versatility and entrepreneurial drive.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Frizzell has garnered recognition as a visual artist known for fine art portraits and graphic media commissioned by world class athletes and prominent figures across country, bluegrass, gospel, and Americana music. His work has appeared in major music venues and institutions, earning industry honors and multiple Visual Artist of the Year awards.

Before fully dedicating himself to the arts, Frizzell built a formidable foundation in the boxing world, competing for ten years and earning the distinction of Golden Gloves Champion. His commitment to the sport extended well beyond his competitive career, as he has coached boxing for more than a decade, mentoring and shaping the next generation of fighters. A proud member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF), Frizzell carries the discipline, resilience, and high-performance mindset of a champion into his creative and professional pursuits.

In addition to visual art, and his current film project, Corey works as a manager, and strategist — working closely as a day to day manager for 90's country artist, Ken Mellons and the youthful upstarts, The HonkyTonk Daycare Band.
