| December 9, 2006 | Corey stepped into a new world this month designing the graphics for Shelly Rann's new Christmas album and revamping the design of her last album "Acoustic Heart". Shelly's new Christmas CD is special to both Shelly and Corey since it was a joint project. Not only did Corey handle the art direction but also co wrote with Shelly the only original song and the title cut called "In a place called perfect". Corey unveiled the portrait of Dottie created for the event and spoke to the people that gathered about the young man from England, Paul Potter, who was the driving force of this tribute, and the Hall of Fame campaign. Several of Dottie's family and friends were at the event. |

| October 5, 2006 | Shelly and Corey were over to Henry Paul's house for dinner. Henry and Corey have been speaking for several months and have now made it official. They have partnered up, Corey will be illustrating a children's book that Henry has written. This project will take place over the next year, both are very busy, Corey with his portraits and Henry who is the lead singer for the group Blackhawk has a new album and is touring. | September 29, 2006 | Paul Potter, a huge Dottie West fan, commissioned Corey to create a portrait of Dottie for a tribute that he will be organizing along with a campaign to get Dottie inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame set to take place on her birthday October 11, 2006 in Mcminnville, TN. | July 25, 2006 | Corey and Shelly Rann were guests of Willie Nelson and family at Starwood just outside of Nashville while Willie performed, opening for John Fogerty. Corey met with Willie to give him his portrait from the Roots show. |
| July 21, 2006 | The key art piece from the Roots show sells! Corey's portrait of Lefty Frizzell is sold to Brandon Arriola from Texas. Brandon is a singer himself but most of all is a huge Lefty fan and credits Lefty as his biggest influence. This portrait was what the Roots show was all about, it is also the piece Corey used to show off his work each time he met with a new country artist for the show. This portrait was used as the image to publicise the show and appeared in countless internet articles, magazines including Country Weekly and TV. | June 7, 2006 | Corey exhibited four custom portraits at Billy Yates "Countriest of the Country" Fan Club party concert which was part of Fan Fair 2006. These portraits included an early and a late Lefty Frizzell, Keith Whitley and Billy Yates. Corey Created the Lefty portraits from personal family photos. The kieth Whitley portrait was created from a personal photo Kieth gave to Corey's dad, Allen, when they worked on the "Don't Close Your Eyes" album together and Billy picked out his own photo. | June 2, 2006 | Opening night reception to celebrate Roots. The Renaissance Center held a reception for Corey's first solo art exhibition. This show is a tribute show to Corey's musical heritage. Corey created portraits from personal family photos of his uncles Lefty and David Frizzell and his dad Allen Frizzell. Also included in the show are portraits of George Jones, Craig Morgan, Mark Chesnutt, Billy Yates, Ken Mellons, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson, Whitey Shafer, Joe Diffie and Gene Watson. The only portrait that will be for sale from this show will be the portrait of Lefty, all other portraits belong to the artists they are of. The show will run from June 2nd through July 15th. There was a good turn out for the reception, the show also included live music, different artists got up and performed their own music including Corey's family. |
