Coming Soon - The Children of the Corn 25th Anniversary Portrait SeriesIn 1984, a movie was released that guaranteed we would never look at a cornfield the same way again. For the 25th anniversary of Children of the Corn, Portrait Artist Corey Frizzell is creating original works of art based on the movie. But Corey is no stranger to the town of Gatlin. As production started in 1983, Corey worked as a stand-in actor for Robby Kiger who played Job and also was cast as one of the "Children". Now, 25 years later, Corey has painstakingly captured the images of some of the most iconic characters from the movie. Coming Soon to CoreyFrizzell.com in association with ChildrenoftheCornMovie.com

CorCorey Asked To Be Interviewed For The Children of The Corn WebsiteCorey was asked by John Sullivan, webmaster for the Children of The Corn movie website and myspace page to be included in his interview series. John maintains a great site and has already interviewed fan favorites like Courtney Gains "Malachai", John Philbin "Amos" and Jonas Marlowe "Joseph". For those that don't know in 1983, at eight years old, Corey spent a year on location in Sioux City, IA for the filming of the original Children of The Corn Movie. Corey was an Extra as on of the Evil children from the town of Gatlin. Additionally, Corey played a Stand-In Double for the character "Job" played by actor Robby Kieger. As a Stand-In Corey would be used to film scenes as "Job" that did not involve seeing his face too clearly or speaking parts while Robby filmed other parts for "Job" at the same time elsewhere. "The 25th anniversary of the movie is comming soon. It will be interesting what anyone associated with the film will be doing for it. I'm sure John has some pretty cool things planned. I am honored that John has asked for an interview and look forward to it." - Corey Check back for an update on Corey's finnished interview and when it will be published. LCPL Adam Bishop Chosen for Fallen Heroes ProjectCorey met with Birdie Bishop of Dickson, TN and was honored to have her son LCPL Adam Bishop as the first soldier added to Corey's Fallen Heroes tribute page. Adam was a 23-year-old Marine who was on his third tour of duty when he was shot to death by hostile fire in Fallujah, Iraq, a city in the Iraqi province of Al Anbar, located roughly 43 miles west of Baghdad on the Euphrates River, where he was serving as a police sergeant at a base camp. "He was behind a desk working on the base when he was hit," said his mother, Birdie Bishop, adding that her son was formerly a scout sniper. "This was his third time over there and we thought he was safe because he wasn't out patrolling anymore." Corey will start immediately on a portrait of Adam that will be on display on his Fallen Heroes tribute page and presented to Adam's mother, Birdie.

Corey Launches New "Fallen Heroes" ProjectCorey has launched a new project to honor the memory of soldiers who have been killed during a time of war while serving in the United States Armed Forces and give back to the families of these men and women for their sacrifice. Corey will have a page on this website called "Fallen Heroes" in tribute to these “It’s my view that whether you agree or not with our president or whether you agree or not with whatever war that our nation is involved in, there are men and women who are making sacrifices and defending our great nation who need our support. Not only are these soldiers making everyday sacrifices but so are their families. It’s because of the sacrifice that these brave soldiers are making on our behalf that we are able to live free and have so much opportunity. Sadly, some have made the ultimate sacrifice. We have soldiers dying that need to be remembered. They are part of the reason the Frizzell’s have been able to do what they do. The reason I am able to be who I am and do what I love to do.

Corey Has Cameo in His Dad's VideoCorey's dad, Country Gospel great, Allen Frizzell shot a new video for his song "I'm Living For Jesus" off his new CD "I'm Just a Nobody." Corey plays his dad Allen as a young man who gets saved, is baptized and starts to play music for the lord. Filming for the video took place in Pigeon Forge, TN, Nashville, TN and surrounding area. "I play my dad getting baptized in this video. The scene takes place in an old country church outside of Nashville. I just remember being submerged in the baptismal for the scene and it had not been heated at all. That was the coldest water I have ever been in, I could barely hold my breath. I don't know how people got baptized in creeks during winter in years past. Even though the water was cold, it was a lot of fun. The next scene is where I play dad as a young man singing for the lord. It was interesting standing up there with a guitar imagining how dad would do it and trying to pull it off with him standing there. We all had a good time." - Corey The video was filmed and produced by Corey's friend, Ed Vinson.
